Adopting Family

  My wife and I are adopting her two grandchildren in Southeast Asia. The domestic (in-country) adoption process that we are using is less expensive than the usual cost of an international adoption—easily saving at least 80%. Even so, we have been struggling of late in our efforts to gain the funds necessary for the legal fees. My work in non-profit ministry, which, while very rewarding intrinsically, is not financially rewarding in spite of many hours of service.

Love Rules!                                                                                                                                           We are loving and trusting, having given very generously of our limited personal resources in the past to worthy people and causes, always with faith in God to provide for our own needs. And we now find ourselves unable to accumulate the necessary funds to fulfill our goal to adopt these beautiful children who need us and love us so much. We have lived together as family for eight months, and teach the children every day, by word and example to love reading scripture, to pray, and to know, love and serve the Lord. I recently had to return to the states to work, leaving my wife overseas to care for the children until we can bring them to the states. (By then, the children will have been under our roof for two years, so immigration to the states should be fairly straightforward.
