Campaign Story
My current vet bill is $7,348.17
This has racked up from all the special needs dogs I have taken in lately.
Luna, a dog that came to me starved and could barely walk from being kept in a small enclosure. As Luna Grill we discovered that she had an issue with her back because she was not walking properly and was hanging her head and was hunched over. The X-ray show that she is missing a disc between two of her vertebrae and there was a little speroff one of the vertebrae is that she is in danger of puncturing her spinal cord and she will become paralyzed. It is $2,500 to $3,500 just for a consultation and MRI at NC State Veterinary School. If she require surgery which will likely be, that surgery will be 6000 to $8,000.
Sedona, a starved dog who came down with pneumonia. Luna , a 5 month old puppy, who was severely starved and has flat feet needing rehab and Jaylin, a 3 1/2 old puppy who was starved and has a broken left front leg. Cain, a 5 year old pitbull who was tied to garbage cans and left on the side of the road when owners moved away. He is heartworm positive and had to have a very large skin tag removed. I still have an outstanding bill from a litter of 9 pups that 5 passed away right after they were spayed/neutered due to congenital issues with their lungs.
The vet bill got so high from getting all these dogs heartworm treatments which can cost thousands depending on the size and weight of the dog. When the adoption fee is only $200, it is pretty easy to get into debt.
I never turn a dog away who needs my help.
Val is my most recent case of a dog starved ALMOST to death.
Bullwinkle had to have his eye repaired and a piece of wood removed from his mouth taking out 2 of his molars in the process to get the wood out that had been there for quite some time. He currently has heartworms and is in need of treatments to save his life.
Ellen was part of a cruelty case and kept in a rape box when she had a cleft lip. She also has heartworms and requires treatments to save her life.
Sable had breast cancer as well as heartworms. She has been treated but we now owe the vet thousands for her treatments and She recently passed away from renal failure
Ringo was shot with birdshot which lodged in his lungs as well as having heartworms. He has been treated but it cost a lot for blood panels, xrays and heartworm treatments
Lennon had the worst case of demodex mange that took over a year to treat as well as heartworms. Lennon was with me for over a year and cost thousands to treat him of all his ailments until he was ready to be adopted. His adoption fee was only $200 which didn't even cover his medications, never mind his surgeries and heartworm treatments.
Herb had heartworms.
All this has taken a toll on my vet bill and unless I get it paid down my rescuing days are over.
Please don't let that happen!
Thank you SO much for all your support and help.
