Campaign Story
As some of you will know, on the 7th April 2013 I will be running the Paris marathon.
I'm running for Incawasi School, the school I worked for during my time in Peru last year. Incawasi is a truly inspirational place to work, and has a huge impact on the students, their families, and the wider community. Incawasi is a non-profit organization whose objective is to improve the educational, social and nutritional condition of children from disadvantaged areas in the city of Cajamarca, Peru. The Cajamarca Region is one of the poorest in Peru, with 63.8% of the total population living in extreme poverty.
Incawasi are committed to working towards a future in which our children’s socio-economic backgrounds will not stand between them and the realization of their dreams.
The Paris marathon especially appeals to me as well because it will be great to run around a city I lived in for 4 months, although I might not be in much a mood to appreciate the view along the Champs-Élysées as I complete the gruelling 26.2 mile course.
Any donation would be greatly appeciated, and here's a quick guide as to what your money could be used for...
"Germbusting" = £10 - The donation provides us with a month’s worth of hand soap and toothpaste for the children to prevent infectious diseases.
Healthy & Happy = £20 - Goes towards a fund to cover the cost of medical specialists when serious health problems arise.
Milk Mania = £35 - The donation will pay for a month’s worth of milk for all our children.
Tummy Tam Tam = £50 - With this donation you can feed 45 children a warm meal a day for a week
For more information on the work Incawasi does, please visit www.incawasi.org.pe, or contact me.
Thank you so much for your support.
