Campaign Story
Earl is a father and grandfather and has dedicated over 40 years of his life to the nursing profession. After feeling ill for several months he was recently diagnosed with hilar cholangiocarcinoma (an aggressive form of liver/bile duct cancer) and was given a few months to live unless specialists can assess the cancer as operable. The assessment process and subsequent operation and treatment cannot readily be undertaken in his homeland (Trinidad) as significant experience with these uncommon tumors has been limited to a small number of centers globally. The UK being the most viable treatment option.
The full treatment and aftercare could cost in excess of £110,000 but should add several high quality years to his life.We thus request that you give whatever you can to help him win his fight for life. Next week he enters his final 3 week cycle of chemo prior to returning to the surgeon for assessment. He has been reacting well to the treatment and has been in good spirits, in large part due to the

Update posted by Damian Corneal at 03:31 pm02/01/16 - Happy New Year, just wanted to keep you updated on Earl's condition. The stents have improved how he is feeling day to day which is a positive, however, the doctors now know they have to attempt to shrink the tumour via chemo before operating. This makes sense having. . . . .

Earl arrived in the UK today (23/12), was seen by a specialist and immediately admitted to the hospital based on his current condition. They will run further tests tonight (CT, MRI, Bloods) but he will undergo a stent operation tomorrow (24/12) to relieve. . . . .
