Campaign Story
Dear friends and family,
On the 15th of July we will be heading off on our next big adventure! 5895m above sea level, the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world has been calling our names...we're off to climb Kilimanjaro!
As we take on this challenge, we have decided to raise money for two awesome charities. The first is Go MAD (Go Make A Difference), the organisation that we both volunteered with in 2012. They are a non-profit dedicated to making an impact in the rural communities surrounding Musoma (Tanzania), mostly through helping provide clean water for local families and communities. This organisation is very dear to our hearts as we spent three months living and working there with Go MAD.
The second is LifeBUILDERS, an organisation working in impoverished neighbourhoods in Detroit. Their focus is to empower youth, reclaim neighbourhoods and build community. Having both lived in Ann Arbor, 40min outside of Detroit, we also want to support the communities close to home.
We are personally funding the cost of our trip so all your donations will get divided equally between both of these organisations. Although you can only pay through Paypal, if you do not have a Paypal account you can make a donation as a one time Paypal guest by selecting "buy as a guest" on the Paypal tab. We do lose a small percentage of the donations by receiving them online so if you would like to give them to us personally that would work too.
Thank you very much for your support and generosity!
Jeanne and Lottie
P.S all donations will receive special recognition from the top of Kilimanjaro (providing at least one of us makes it to the top!) ;)
