Brandee’s Jumping out of Her Comfort Zone

My name is Brandee, and I am a 4th grade teacher in a rural area. I have always wanted to make a difference in the lives of others, have always wanted to volunteer my time and love for children, and travel outside of the U.S. For those who know me, they know this is definitely outside of my comfort zone and are truly surprised (but proud) that I am taking a leap of faith and embarking on this journey. 

I am so EXCITED to announce that I will be traveling to Ghana (in Africa) this summer to commit two weeks to assist at a children's orphanage. These children need love and attention, and assistance with education and developing their life skills. I will also help in providing the children with the essential skills in life that may help them on their way to successful futures free from poverty, filled with the same opportunities as others.

I am planning my work through an organization called Global Volunteer Network. GVN is a non-Government organization which places people in a range of opportunities such as teaching or environmental work in a number of countries. In order to make this dream come true, I will be using my personal savings, and am seeking all of your love and support for this trip. I would appreciate any donations to enable me to take on the challenge of helping others in less fortunate circumstances than ourselves.
