Message from Sandip (CEO)

It’s 2017! Happy New Year, everyone!I love this time of year – it is so full of optimism and plans.

We’ve already seen some remarkable campaigns on our site this year, but check out our most recent blog below to see what made 2016 stand out.

If you have any new year suggestions or ideas you would like to see featured on GoGetFunding, get in touch – we’d love to hear them!

So, we’re well into 2017 and those New Year’s Resolutions that were made are really starting to bite hard. Did you know that after one week only 75% of people are still sticking to their resolutions? This drops to 64% after one month, and just 46% after 6 months.

Fundraising (especially for the first time) can be a little daunting and the success rate really does depend on your motivation and drive to succeed (a bit like a new year’s resolution, really). ┬áDid you know that you should spend between 3 – 5 hours a week on your campaign?

If you are crowdfunding for something or someone close to your heart and your motivation is wavering a little, perhaps now is a great time to remind you about your dedicated fundraising coach. Yes, that’s right, from the moment you create your campaign you have a fundraising coach available to support, guide and motivate you through your entire campaign. You just need to reach out to them through our Customer Support department. Who knows? It could be just the encouragement you need to succeed.

Also, don’t forget that we feature campaigns (that meet our criteria) on our social media pages and featured fundraiser page. So if your campaign started well, but is in a bit of a lull, get in touch. It might be just the right time to highlight it for you.

And finally, don’t forget to read our blog and review other campaigns on our site for ideas, hints and tips that may help YOUR campaign too!

Campaign Highlights:

Hedgepeth Family Legal Defense and Settlement Fund

Sometimes, seeing an update like this is what makes this job so amazingly rewarding:
132 Backers
US$36,196.00
$1,950.00 Raised offline
Total: $38,146.00

WOW — WOW — WOW

Update posted by David Hedgepeth On Jan 09

We are floored.
Two weeks ago we reached out — telling our story and letting you all know we needed help — $3,000 by 1/15. We had 3 weeks, and lots of friends, so we were hopeful we could do it
The response has been overwhelming — the donations, the notes, the calls. We now have ALL of the money we owe the insurance company and about 2/3 of what we owe our lawyer.
The Man wont’ know what hit him.
And what we’ve heard back from you is that YOU too are amazed at the response. This effort has not only relieved our grief and stress, but brightened your days as well — watching the donations pour into the legal fund.
Huge hugs and love and thanks.
The joy isn’t just spreading to our family, but to everyone who’s been a part of this.
Thank you.
Justine & Dave

10 Things That Proved 2016 Was Great For Crowdfunding!

As we stride well into January and 2017, we look at 10 things that made 2016 a great year for crowdfunding with GoGetFunding. It was really hard narrowing it down to just ten, but we really think these ten showed what is making crowdfunding such a special way to raise funds. And so, in no particular order, here are our top 10 memorable moments:

Timely Fundraising Ideas for YOU:

With Valentine’s Day on the horizon we just had to look at some simple ways to boost your campaign throughout February. Here are just a few ideas that can put some love into your campaign:

A Cake Bake

Consider a cake bake sale at work. We guarantee they will fly off the shelves while helping raise awareness of your cause. Don’t stop there either, underneath each cake write a number that can be entered into a draw for another prize. Two incentives to buy a cake!

586a75ed150ba0353a8b467eA Love Auction

What about an auction? Valentine’s Day is a busy time for hotels, restaurants and florists. Reach out to them and see if there is something they could donate to help your campaign through February, not just Valentine’s Day. Great publicity for them leading up to the ‘Big Day’.

Kiddie Crafts

Get the kiddies involved. Valentine’s Day is a great time for schools to use as a way to raise funds (these would make great rewards for anyone who donates to the school campaign during February).
