Crowdfunding Platform GoGetFunding Goes Truly Global!

We’re reaching out further than ever before! We already proudly serve over 30 different countries, accepting more than 22 different currencies, but just take a look at the additional countries we now serve (as of February 2017):

So how did we do it, and why?

Here at GoGetFunding, we’re constantly looking at ways to extend our crowdfunding service and we know that there have been considerable barriers in some countries preventing many crowdfunding platforms from being able to offer a safe, secure way for fundraisers to raise funds and share campaigns – so we decided to do something about it.

For the last 18 months, we have been researching, testing and refining a payment option that works effectively within each of the countries listed above (we hope to continue expanding this feature to even more countries, too) and we are delighted to announce we have now developed a customised payment option that is specifically designed to support crowdfunding.

Are there limitations?

At present, even though you are able to raise funds in these countries, you are not able to raise funds in the local currency, however, as demand increases we intend to roll out the ability to do so.

Will it make any difference for donors?

Absolutely not. The only difference will be that you will actually be able to accept donations from them! So, from that perspective it is a massive difference. But in terms of functionality for your donors, there will be no difference between a campaign created in one of our ‘Global Countries’ compared to one created as an original campaign.

Will it make any difference for fundraisers?

There are a small number of concessions we needed to make in order to make this service viable and safe. Once requirement is that funds cannot be released immediately – there is a 50 day holding period for funds. However, as many other crowdfunding sites do not allow the release of funds until the campaign ends, we feel this is very reasonable.

Another difference is in relation to fees. Due to the higher risk associated with online fundraising in these countries the total fees for using the service has been assessed independently and determined to be 12%. We believe that this is a fair reflection of the additional processes that are required to ensure this feature is as safe as it can be. In fact if the fee was determined to be much higher, we would have reconsidered the viability of introducing this service.

Beyond this, everything in relation to running a campaign remains exactly the same.

How do I add it to my campaign?

If you are identified as having a campaign in one of our ‘Global Countries’ the option to enable GoGetFunding Global Payments will be automatically presented to you during the setting up process of your campaign.
