Alfie Butler

Alfie James Butler, born 10th May 2014, son to one of our best friends, Charlie Swithenbank and James Butler. Some of you reading this will know Charlie and James, therefore you will know of their story, but to those of you that don't, I pledge that you give us a few seconds of your time...

Alfie James Butler born 10th May,

Bundle of joy made Mummy's day,

A song keeps on playing, his Dad plays it back,

The song's called "The Man" sung by Aloe Blacc.

Brother to Harry, a family of boys,

He's always smiling, parent's full of joy,

A picture of happiness, not a care in the world,

But their story changes and begins to unfold.

At 9 months old, they have some news,

Grade 3 tumour, this cannot be true,

Nobody so young should have this plight,

But together we stand strong against this fight.

Alfie goes in to theatre, an op on his head,

All patiently waiting right by his bed,

He stays in the general for the next 5 months,

People constantly visiting and sending their love.

He is now on the chemo to shrink it away,

Must relearn how to swallow while keeping sickness at bay,

Throughout this all, he beams with a smile,

No mountain's too high, it will all be worthwhile.

Which brings us on nicely to what we have planned,

To raise money and awareness for this little man,

A mountain we climb, in aid of our boy,

Please sponsor us kindly so we can bring him some joy.

His journey is long, but together we stand,

The battle against cancer is all in our hands,

Big or small, all donations are welcome,

So off we go to climb Mount Snowdon!

Alfie we love you, for your smile and fight,

Made us realise how fragile life can be like,

So be thankful for your health, family and friends,

On 15th August, our group of best friends will be climbing Mount Snowdon for this incredible boy. This mountain is a drop in the ocean in comparison to the mountain he has to climb. We just want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any donation, big or small!
