A Shelter Upgrade!

I am a single mom hoping this fund can provide a shelter upgrade for myself and my family via the purchase of a Class C (cab over, gas fuel, 22-25 ft.) RV.  Enough funds are needed to ensure that the vehicle is functional inside (stove/oven, fridge/freezer, toilet/shower/sink, AC) and out (engine, brakes, tires, smog test, etc.) without needing immediate repairs.

Mobility and a self-contained situation works best for us as we travel frequently to pet/house/kid sit for many different people in many different cities.  In addition, we have learned to live small and enjoy change so this will keep us in-line with our way of life while providing a more socially acceptable mode of accommodation.

P.S.  If I am successful in this endeavor I hope to begin work on a 501(c)3 to provide aid to others who find themselves in similar circumstances; especially those with children and pets.  So, this fund raiser is my learning platform as well!

Hello everyone, I just wanted to place an update on what has been happening.  It looks like there will be some nice RVs coming up for sale at the end of summer (passing smog is something that is being listed in ads now) and we could use new wheels more than ever.  My car has been nickle and diming me for a bit but finally decided to give up the ghost on Thursday last and blow a head gasket (eek!).  Will be enjoying SoCals public transportation system (little one in tow - who has been saying how she has been wanting to bus around; I forgot to tell her to be careful what you wish for!) to get to my jobs.

 For those of you who like videos, there are many about the homeless family situation in America (including those who work and still can't afford traditional housing).  As usual, 60 Minutes does a nice job: 60 Minutes Clip  I too, am searching Craig's List for something better and it looks like the Labor Day weekend will produce my final selection.  Have been saving money for pre-purchase inspections to make sure I don't get something in need of major and/or immediate repairs!  I am learning a lot and will be sharing it with the other moms (and any dads who appear) who I know that are in like situation or close to being so.  If we all pull together we can make life better for so many others - especially the kids.  Thank you.
