Venezuelan Math Teams 2019

NOW LET´S TAKE THE VENEZUELAN MATH TEAM TO IMO 2019 and OMCC 2019

Young math talents have been selected to participate in upcoming mathematical Olympiads. Francisco Molina, Mariangeles Mavarez, and Marialve Mavarez will be competing in XXXIV Centro American and Caribbean Mathematical Olympiad (OMCC), to be held in Santo Domingo (República Dominicana) from June 14^th to June 22th. Juan Diego Guevara and Sabrina Queipo will attend the 60^th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), to be held in Bath (UK) from July 11^th to July 22th. They dream of representing Venezuela, and are training very hard to do their best performance. This dream will become true only with your generous donation. Any contribution, even the small ones, will put them closer to their dream. The teams will be completed with Prof. Rafael Sánchez (Universidad Antonio Nariño de Bogotá and Universidad Central de Venezuela) and Prof. José Nieto (Universidad del Zulia) as Team Leader and Deputy Leader for the IMO team; and Prof. María Morán (Universidad Central de Venezuela), and José Tomás Guevara (Universidad Metropolitana): Team Leader and Deputy Leader for the OMCC team.

Team members have accumulated several international and national recognitions. Participation in previous competitions were possible thanks to donations from ex-olympics, family, friends and math lovers. Help them to do it one more time.

The Venezuelan math team has been an inspiration to thousands kids and young math enthusiasts that participate in national competitions every year. In the past, they received support from important foundations like Fundación Empresas Polar, I Love Venezuela Foundation, Miguel Cabrera Foundation and Fundación Alas Para Volar; and companies like Acumuladores Duncan; they were received by the Academia de Ciencias Físicas, Matemáticas y Naturales de Venezuela; their achievements were listed as one of the top 2015 national events by Ford Motor Company de Venezuela, interviewed in several radio programs, and have been featured in several news portals.

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED?

Although the funds are been collected in the US, we accept donations from any country, and all money received will be used to support the Venezuelan Math Team based in Venezuela. All donated funds will be taken as a gift and used only to pay for air travel tickets, travel insurance, hotels, and food during the travel for all the team. Any additional money received or any savings from the budget target will be used to fund the Venezuelan participation in the Math Kangaroo world meeting.
